Robotic furniture shows emotion, acknowledges your presence

Isn’t it nice to be acknowledged for just being there? Ok, let’s consider here only the pure ‘physical’ presence … Imagine coming home from an exhausting day at work and neither your not present flatmate nor your nonexisting dog jump around welcoming you. Your empty apartment does not appreciate seeing you at the end of the day? Some robotic devices might be! What if your beloved armchair would turn to you, changing into a relaxing bordeaux color and offering you a cozy place to relax? Passing by the lamp in the hallway, it opens up and flower-like turns its leaves to you. A team composed of interaction designers and creative technologist designedso called emoti-bots: a new kind of furniture and daily life objects, such as chairs and lamps that react to your presence.
